Social Venture Partners Calgary (SVPC) Fast Pitch is a business pitch competition for local, non-profit organizations. Each year 16 non-profit organizations and their leaders are selected to participate based on their innovative approaches to creating social change and their potential for significant and positive community impact. Over the course of two months, these non-profit leaders are coached on how to succinctly and powerfully “tell their story.”
The program culminates in a “Fast Pitch” competition – a high energy, fast moving presentation event where finalists share the mission, vision, promise and model of their organization with the audience and judges. This is an amazing event where Calgarians are introduced to a broad range of non-profit organizations and their innovative social change initiatives.
Since 2012, SVPC Fast Pitch has awarded non-profit organizations with over $200,000 in grants and prizes as well as thousands of hours of coaching from local business professionals. Following their involvement with Fast Pitch, participant organizations often achieve further growth, investment, sponsorship and increased public awareness.
Past winners include Beads of Courage, Highbanks Society, Calgary Can, Mealshare, Calgary Sexual Health, Autism Aspergers Friendship Society (AAFS), Branch Out Foundation, Give A Mile, Hearts and Hammers and Little Hippies Yoga.
This year's SVPC Fast Pitch & Showcase will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Telus Spark.
Fast Pitch is brought to you by Social Venture Partners Calgary, a group dedicated to bringing together individuals interested in philanthropy and social change within the Calgary community. By pooling not only funds, but time and expertise, SVP Calgary has been able to create real impacts in several fantastic non-profits within our city.
